Privacy policy

Cooperative Growers Association Southeast Netherlands U.A. (ZON), ZON Holding B.V. and all its affiliated operating companies (hereinafter: “ZON”)

1. Introduction

For the conduct of its business it is necessary that ZON processes personal data. More specifically, ZON Holding B.V. formally designate as 'controller' for these processing operations. However, certain data is processed by various operating companies. This privacy policy applies to the personal data that ZON receives, whether or not via its websites http://www.royalzon.com/nl; https://www.freshparkvenlo.nl/; https://www.z-online.nl/; and https://www.vaneigengrond.nl/ (“Websites”) processes and applies to all processing by the companies within the group. This concerns personal data of, among other things, (potential) relations, members and customers, tenants and/or website visitors of ZON. With this privacy policy, ZON wishes to provide you with information about this processing of your personal data.

Anyone who enters into an agreement with ZON, visits its Websites and/or uses the services of ZON, agrees to this privacy policy. This privacy policy can be consulted and downloaded via the ZON Websites. ZON strives to process your personal data carefully and in accordance with the applicable regulations.

2. Categories of personal data

ZON processes, among other things, the following (categories of) personal data:

  • Your name and contact details (including address and place of residence, e-mail address, telephone number);

  • Your gender and date of birth;

  • Uw bankgegevens.

This data is obtained from you by ZON by filling in contact forms, membership statements, logging into the systems offered by ZON and otherwise providing information to ZON. Furthermore, data is automatically recorded on ZON's servers, such as a URL, IP address, the type of browser you use, the language, date and/or identification numbers of computers, tablets or smartphones you use.

3. Purposes of Processing

The aforementioned personal data is processed for the following purposes:

  • To represent the interests of members with regard to the marketing of fruit and vegetables, in the broadest sense of the word;

  • Entering into, executing and brokering contracts with regard to the provision of services and products (for the benefit of affiliated growers), including but not limited to:

    • entering into, executing and brokering contracts with transporters for the transport of growers' products

    • entering into, executing and brokering contracts with buyers regarding the purchase of product from growers,

    • entering into, executing and brokering contracts with regard to the provision of services and products for the purpose of purchasing a product, not being a member product, but which is necessary to

      • for example, to be able to make fresh packages (for this we have to buy smoked sausages, for example);

      • to have sufficient volume at the clock (for example, Spanish peppers that are then purchased);

      • to be able to fulfill contracts with supermarkets, where we may have too little “own” product at times;

  • Entering into and executing rental contracts with tenants;

  • Entering into, executing and brokering contracts with regard to the provision of services and products (for the benefit of tenants on the business park);

  • Maintaining contact with members, relations and other (business) contacts, including but not limited to answering e-mails and/or other messages;

  • To collect usage statistics and optimize the Websites;

  • To comply with laws and regulations.

Your personal data will not be used for other purposes. For the aforementioned purposes, the personal data can be shared within the ZON group (the operating companies referred to above).

4. Providing data to third parties

ZON may use the services of third parties for the processing of this personal data, on which processors contractual obligations for the careful handling of your personal data will be imposed.

Your contact details are also provided to potential customers, including via the Websites.

In certain cases, ZON is obliged to provide your personal data to competent authorities in accordance with laws and regulations.

Social media and third party websites

ZON offers through its Websites the possibility to share information that can be found on it via social media, e-mail and other means of communication and to print it. It has no control over this and bears no responsibility for any further use of your personal data by third parties (including, for example, members and relations) in this way.

ZON offers visitors to its Websites links to other websites, for example those of growers. ZON is not responsible for information on linked websites.

5. Personal data retention periods

ZON does not store your personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was processed. In most cases this means that your personal data will be deleted no later than two years after your relationship with ZON has ended (or for website visitors after visiting the Websites). In some cases, ZON may be obliged to keep the (or: certain) personal data for longer on the basis of laws and regulations (with a maximum of 7 years after the aforementioned events).

6. Data Security

ZON takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, with which Zon aims to ensure that this data is not lost and/or cannot be changed and that third parties cannot gain unauthorized access to it. The Personal Data, or other information that you provide to us, will not be transferred and/or stored outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

7. Your privacy-related rights


You have various rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For example, you can request ZON to view your personal data or to receive a copy thereof, to have it changed in the event of inaccuracies or incompleteness or to have it removed if, for example, in your opinion it is no longer necessary to keep your personal data for the aforementioned purposes or to send it to your opinion has been processed in violation of laws and regulations. In certain situations, you can also request that processing be restricted.

ZON will respond to your request within the statutory term, normally within 4 weeks. You can also object to ZON and/or submit complaints about the processing of your personal data, and if this does not lead to a desirable result, you can also contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority directly.

You can contact ZON's compliance officer with regard to the aforementioned, whose contact details are listed in paragraph 10 below.

8. Cookies

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit our Websites.

How do cookies work?

Cookies are used, for example, to store information about your surfing behavior or to remember certain settings you have chosen. When the websites are visited again, your visit will be recognized. This allows the Websites to adapt to the settings and preferences you choose. The information about your surfing behavior on the Websites can then be analyzed by ZON in order to further optimize the Websites.

What kind of cookies are placed?

  • ZON can place the following cookies:
    Essential and functional cookies. These are necessary cookies and ensure that you can visit the websites, make certain requests and use certain functions on the websites. We do not require permission to place these cookies.

  • Analytical cookies. These are necessary to improve your website experience and our services. We also do not need permission to place these cookies.

Via the settings of your browser you can also indicate which types of cookies may or may not be stored.

9. Privacy Policy Changes

ON is entitled to change this privacy policy in the interim. The amended version will be effective as soon as it is published on the Websites. It is therefore advisable to read it every now and then.
