Mangold of snijbiet
Mangold ook wel snijbiet genoemd, is een bladgroente. Deze bladgroente bestaat uit een stengel met donkergroene bladeren. De stengels (of 'ribben') kunnen allerlei verschillende kleuren hebben, wit, geel en rood. De ribben van de rode variant lijken sprekend op rabarber. Zowel stengel als blad zijn eetbaar. Qua smaak lijkt snijbiet het meest op spinazie, met een aardse ondertoon net als bij bieten.
