Tegenwoordig wordt het in eigen land als heerlijke groente geteeld. De nootachtige blaadjes zijn erg smaakvol. Gerechten met veldsla hoef je hierdoor niet sterk te kruiden. Je kunt veldsla het beste in de koelkast bewaren.
